The Family Offices & Asset Management Summit, which the organiser shortens to FOAM, is a one-day event run by Hubfinance at the European Convention Center in Luxembourg. It is now in its fifth year and runs from early morning to early evening. The programme is delivered in English, although Hubfinance itself is a French-language platform serving the wider European wealth market.
Luxembourg is a deliberate choice rather than a neutral one. The country is where a large share of European funds are domiciled, so a summit held there sits close to the structuring and administration side of the industry as well as to the investors.
Who attends
The audience is family offices, asset managers, private banks and wealth professionals. Hubfinance names its own licence members, wealth managers and senior executives as the target profiles.
The badge on this listing marks it as an advisers and professionals event, and that is the right reading. Families are present, but this is an industry gathering rather than a peer forum, and the presence of a Partner Excellence Awards ceremony on the programme tells you how much of the room is commercial.
How access works
Registration is validated before it is accepted. Hubfinance states that it reviews registrations to keep the audience relevant, and that places are limited.
Pricing has two tiers. Eligible profiles attend free, which in practice covers the investor side and Hubfinance's own members. Everyone else pays €750 excluding VAT for an early booking or €950 excluding VAT at the standard rate. That split follows the usual pattern: the people the sponsors want to meet do not pay, and the people who want to meet them do.
Anyone unsure which side of the line they fall on should register and let the validation step decide, since the eligibility conditions are not published in full.
What attendees get
A full day covering capital strategy in defensive conditions, where wealth is being moved geographically, multi-manager approaches, keeping a family office going across generations, and reallocating assets. Fireside conversations with senior figures run alongside the panels, and a standing lunch and the awards ceremony carry the networking.
For a family office already operating through Luxembourg structures, or considering doing so, the location puts the fund administrators, lawyers and managers who service those structures in one room for a day at no cost. That is an efficient use of a day. For an office with no Luxembourg exposure, the case is weaker and a general European forum will serve better.
