The Family Office Club was founded in 2007 and runs roughly thirty events a year, making it the highest-frequency organisation in this directory. Its two flagship gatherings, the Family Office Super Summit in Florida and the Single Family Office Summit in New York, have their own entries here.
Who takes part
The club's published attendee breakdowns list billionaires, family offices, professional athletes investing their earnings, doctors, decamillionaires and centimillionaires, alongside fund managers, wealth advisers and service providers.
Both sides of the market are in the room by design, and the club does not pretend otherwise. Its programming includes capital-raising training, and investors present their mandates so that people with deals can find them.
That makes it a marketplace rather than a peer group, which is neither good nor bad in itself but decides whether it suits you. A family office looking for a quiet conversation with three other principals about governance should look at the peer networks in this directory. One actively hunting for direct deals, or wanting to see a large cross-section of what is being offered, is the intended audience.
How membership works
The club sells membership rather than event tickets, so attendance runs through joining, and the tiers are published.
Charter membership starts at US$1,450 with a US$249 monthly fee after the opening period. VIP membership is US$5,000 a year. Verified membership is US$10,000 a year. Investors can also apply through a separate route rather than buying membership outright.
Because one membership covers the whole annual calendar, the cost is better judged across the year than against a single event. Thirty events for a few thousand dollars is a low per-event figure by the standards of this directory, where a single screened forum can charge providers three thousand for two days.
What members get
Access to the full events calendar, a portal holding well over a thousand recorded investor talks, monthly webinars, and tools the club provides to members.
The recorded library is the underrated part. For someone new to the sector it is a large, searchable body of material on how family offices describe their own strategies, available without attending anything.
The honest summary is that the Family Office Club sells volume and access. Whether that is worth the fee depends entirely on whether you are in the market for what is being offered, or looking to sell.
