The Citywire Monaco Forum is a half-day meeting held at the Fairmont Monte Carlo. It follows the pattern Citywire uses across Europe: bring the people who select funds together with the people who manage them, keep it short, and leave a long stretch at the end for conversation. Citywire has run the Monaco format in more than one shape, including afternoon briefings at the same venue.

Who attends

The delegate audience is fund selectors and allocators drawn from asset managers, private banks and family offices, alongside institutional investors. Portfolio managers from fund groups attend to present.

The badge on this listing is there for a reason. Monaco holds one of the densest concentrations of private wealth anywhere, and a good deal of it is managed by single family offices based in the principality. But this forum is an investment meeting for professionals, not a peer group for principals. Family office investment staff will find it relevant. A family member looking for other family members will not.

How access works

Citywire manages the delegate list rather than opening registration to all comers, and confirms terms at the point of registration. It does not publish a delegate fee for the Monaco forum. Across the wider Citywire calendar the cost is carried by the asset management firms that run the workshops, so a qualifying selector is unlikely to be asked for money, but the Monaco page does not say so outright and it is worth checking.

What attendees get

The agenda is compact. Two fund group workshops run in parallel, thirty minutes each, with managers presenting a strategy rather than a general market view. Recent editions have covered approaches such as volatility and option premium strategies and quantitative equity. Lunch opens the afternoon and an extended networking session closes it, and that closing stretch is deliberately long, closer to two and a half hours than the usual twenty minutes.

That balance tells you what the forum is for. The workshops give a reason to be in the room and something concrete to discuss; the networking is where most of the value sits. For a family office based in Monaco or on the surrounding coast, it is a low-commitment way to keep up with what managers are selling and to stay in contact with the local allocator community without giving up a working day.
