CAASA Family Office Summit 2026

The CAASA Family Office Summit is the annual family office event of the Canadian Association of Alternative Strategies & Assets, a Toronto trade association for the alternatives industry founded in 2018. The eighth edition ran on 28 and 29 April 2026 at the Toronto Region Board of Trade and sold out with a waitlist. Because it is run by a trade body rather than a family office network or a media company, its economics are unusually open.
Who attends
Single family offices are the core. The 2025 edition drew 215 registered delegates plus about 71 undisclosed single family office names, and the organiser reports a split of roughly 55% investors, 36% managers and 12% service providers. Multi-family offices, wealth managers, investment consultants and dealers make up the rest of the investor side. At least half the speakers come from single family offices.
The distinctive part is the pre-day. The afternoon of day one is reserved for SFO-only roundtables, split into rooms for family members and rooms for SFO professionals, and closed to anyone not with a single family office. A general reception follows, and day two is the full summit.
How access works
Registration is open by category. Single family offices and investment advisors attend free, including non-members. Managers and service providers must be CAASA members and pay published rates in Canadian dollars: ancillary service providers from CAD 1,750, core service providers such as fund administrators, accountants and law firms from CAD 2,750, and asset managers from CAD 1,250 to CAD 2,750 by assets under management, each rising by CAD 250 at two cut-off dates before the summit. Sponsorship runs from CAD 3,500 (Bronze) to CAD 20,000 (Title), and an exhibit booth is CAD 2,000. Paid tickets and sponsorship fund the free SFO seats.
What attendees get
The main day runs from breakfast to an evening reception: keynotes, panels, sponsor-hosted "Table Talks" and short one-to-one meetings. Content centres on alternatives, including hedge funds, private markets and real assets, framed for family allocators; 2026 keynotes included speakers from Apollo and other large managers. The SFO-only pre-day is where the candid conversation happens.
For a Canadian family office this is the obvious event to attend, and the price is zero. For a manager or provider it is one of the few places to meet a concentrated group of Canadian single family offices, at a known cost. The 2027 date had not been published when we last checked; the summit has run each spring, usually in April.
