Startup&Angels runs events and podcasts gathering startup founders, investors and ecosystem leaders, describing itself as celebrating innovation across the Asia-Pacific region. It sits in the broader section of this directory because it is a startup ecosystem event series rather than anything aimed at family offices.

Who attends

Founders, angel investors, investors more broadly, and people working across the startup ecosystem. There is no accreditation gate and no qualification test.

The geographic spread is wider than the name suggests. Events have run in Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Vientiane, Yangon, Kathmandu and Port Moresby, with further dates in Nairobi, Kigali and Lyon, and 2026 events planned in Belgium, France, Morocco and Australia.

That reach into frontier markets is the distinctive thing here. Almost every other investor event in this directory concentrates on Singapore, Hong Kong or London. This series runs in Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Papua New Guinea, where organised investor gatherings barely exist.

How access works

Events are open and ticketed, booked through a public ticketing platform, with an online community alongside them. No prices are published on the events page, so the figure appears at the booking step and will vary by city and format.

Open ticketing is the correct model for what this is. The series exists to introduce founders to investors in markets where those two groups do not otherwise meet, and a screening process would defeat the purpose.

What attendees get

The format is consistent: founders pitch for five or six minutes each, followed by questions and open networking. Some editions add judging panels, fireside conversations with investors, and talks from people describing their own experience building companies.

For a family office, the realistic use is narrow but genuine. This is not where you meet peers or learn about structuring. It is a low-cost way to see what early-stage companies in a specific Southeast Asian market actually look like, in an evening, without committing to a network or a fund.

For a family with business interests in one of these markets, or a next-generation member curious about venture investing in the region, an event costing the price of a ticket is the cheapest possible way to find out whether the interest is real before anyone commits capital.
