Single Family Office Summit

The Single Family Office Summit is the Family Office Club's New York event, held over two days at Pace University in lower Manhattan. Recent editions have advertised more than 300 people in the room and over 75 speakers on stage, along with several fireside conversations with centimillionaire investors.

Who attends

The published audience list mixes billionaires and family offices running more than a billion dollars with angel investors, professional athletes investing their earnings, doctors, decamillionaires and the heads of other investor clubs. Around 150 of the attendees are described as high-net-worth private investors and family offices.

Sponsors and service providers attend too, and the event page names the categories: wealth planners, attorneys, real estate investors and venture investors. Despite the name, this is not a closed gathering of single family offices. It is a broad investor event with a substantial single family office presence and an open commercial layer around it.

Anyone weighing it up should take that at face value rather than reading the title as a qualification standard. If you want a screened room of principals only, the application-reviewed forums are a better fit. If you want a high volume of investor and manager contacts over two days in New York, this delivers that.

How access works

The Family Office Club sells membership rather than event tickets, so attendance runs through joining. The tiers are published: Charter membership starts at $1,450 with a $249 monthly fee after the opening period, VIP membership is $5,000 a year and Verified membership is $10,000 a year. Investors can apply through a separate page on the club's site rather than buying membership outright.

Because membership covers the club's full calendar of around thirty events a year, plus a recorded talks portal running to a couple of thousand sessions and monthly webinars, the cost is better judged annually than per summit.

What attendees get

Two days of rapid-fire talks and structured networking sessions, several fireside chats, and the recorded material and tools that come with membership. The format favours quantity of exposure. Sessions are short, the speaker list is long, and the value most attendees report is in the contacts rather than in any single presentation.

The Family Office Club runs its larger Super Summit in Florida on the same model, so anyone testing the format has a choice of which to try first.
