The Family Office Retreat Bermuda is Prestel & Partner's smaller, more informal counterpart to the city forums it runs in New York, Los Angeles, London and elsewhere. The 2026 edition is on 16 and 17 October at The Loren on Pink Beach. The organiser says it brings together about 40 private single family office decision-makers and family members, with only a handful of handpicked experts in the room.

Who attends

The test is the one used across the Prestel series: do you have an offering for the audience, or not? Wealth owners and private family office executives with nothing to sell attend as complimentary guests, provided they hold at least US$150 million and the office works for one family or a few, not as a service to many third parties.

Anyone offering products, services, co-investments or advice pays for a place, and those places are capped on purpose. The retreat format is the point: a beach welcome, a full programme day, then morning sessions and brunch, rather than a two-day city conference with 100-plus families.

How access works

Attendance is by application only. Qualifying families apply by email to the organiser and pay nothing. Provider terms are not published on the retreat page, unlike the city forums, where one-day and two-day delegate rates appear in sterling. Ask Prestel directly rather than assuming the New York or London prices apply.

Every application is reviewed. The organiser states there is no automatic right to attend, which matters more here than at the larger forums because a room of 40 cannot absorb many extra commercial seats without changing the character of the event.

What attendees get

The 2026 theme is Finding Sanctuary. The published topics are organising wealth, investing wealth, and family governance. The draft agenda is on the event page. The shape of the weekend is a Thursday evening beach reception, a full Friday of keynotes and breakouts, and Saturday morning sessions with brunch and open networking. The dates on the page are Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October; confirm the Thursday reception when you apply.

Bermuda is 90 minutes from New York and has a direct flight from London. Prestel has used the retreat format before in Grand Cayman. For a family that already knows the city forums, this is the quieter version of the same gate: same organiser, same asset test, far fewer people in the room.
