NEXUS Global

NEXUS Global brings together next generation philanthropists, impact investors and social entrepreneurs. Its stated aim is to catalyse new leadership and speed up solutions to global problems by connecting exceptional social innovators with the next generation of influential families. The community spans more than 70 countries across six continents, and NEXUS has hosted over 45 summits to date.

Who joins

The membership mixes two groups that rarely sit together in an organised way: young members of wealthy families, and the social entrepreneurs and changemakers whose work needs funding. NEXUS describes its community as next generation philanthropists, chief executives, impact investors, changemakers and storytellers.

Putting inheritors alongside the people doing the work is the whole design. A next generation family member who wants to deploy capital toward something other than returns usually has plenty of access to fund managers and very little to the field itself. NEXUS reverses that.

The organisation does not publish an age range, a wealth threshold or formal eligibility criteria, so the boundaries of the community are less defined than in networks with a published test.

How access works

Participation runs on application, and summit access is curated rather than open. NEXUS publishes no membership fee and no summit price, so terms come on enquiry.

That opacity is worth noting for a community whose membership includes people funding social causes. Anyone joining should establish the full cost of participation, including travel to summits, before committing, since the summits are where most of the value sits and they are held around the world.

What members get

The flagship is the annual NEXUS Global Summit in New York. Regional summits follow in Australia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia, so members outside the United States are not restricted to one trip a year.

Beyond the summits sit delegations and learning journeys, which take members to see work in the field rather than hear about it on a stage. NEXUS puts it as never travelling alone as a member, and the network of country chapters and city ambassadors is what makes that practical.

Working groups organise around specific causes, including one on human trafficking, giving members a route from interest to sustained involvement.

For a next generation family member with philanthropic intent and no obvious peer group, this is one of the few communities built for exactly that position, and its geographic spread is its strongest feature.
